So, you decide to go on a surf trip, chasing your dream waves. You check the forecasts, choose your destination, plan the flights, and accommodations for your next surf trip, and at the right time, you pack everything with a smile on your face.
Now, before packing your surfboard really well packed inside your surfboard travel bag, you have to remove all surf wax as it will be ruined due to flight temperature oscillations. Meaning that not only you will be wasting a lot of wax but also that you will have to find, buy and apply a new bar of surf wax when you arrive at your surf spot, wasting money and your time when you could just grab your surfboard and jump into the waves with our front grip traction pad
Time to surf! Hopefully, you will get a lot of nice waves and end up your surf trip on cloud nine ;)
And in the end, the process again… if you have been surfing with surf wax, it’s time again to remove it all, dispose it at some garbage can and pack everything back again for your return flight.
So, not considering how many wax bars you have used during your surf trip, this means that at least 3* surf wax bars were spent on your surf trip, just to end in a garbage can. And that, for me at least, makes another point for front foot traction pads as an alternative to surf wax.

*Wax consumption on a surftrip, for a shortboard:
- 1 BAR THAT WAS ALREADY ON YOUR SURFBOARD - REMOVED BEFORE THE TRAVEL
- 1 WAX BAR PLACED WHEN YOU ARRIVED - REMOVED BEFORE THE RETURN FLIGHT
- ANOTHER ONE WHEN YOU GET BACK HOME TO SURF ON YOUR LOCAL SPOT
