And they did it again… So many expectations to 2021 and… well, we all know how it was. Just like on those days when the day before you check a perfect forecast, decent size, nice wind direction, perfect tide, and then you go to the beach to face a stronger wind, a lower tide, messy waves and feel cheated.

To celebrate international surfing day, we made our usual annual video where we try to reinforce our ethos.

Website sale number 3000. Maybe it looks a low number to all major industry surf businesses, but it makes me really proud of our journey so far.

Two new boards in my quiver, a new js raging bull and a ci neck beard. So, as I really don’t like white surfboards and I had so much fun painting the js, I’ve decided to make a video of the process on the channel islands.

We established a partnership with surfari, from switzerland. This will allow all our customers there to acquire our surf traction pads locally.
Also, we developed a partnership with two really cool guys from south africa and launched together vdw grip sa

We ended the year with the mark of almost 250.000 hexagons and more than 9600 surf boards equipped with van der waal so far. And that’s a really cool number :)
Here it is. 2021 was again a weird year for everybody and Van der Waal was no exception.
But the truth is that without your support and patience and feedback a lot of these marks were just not possible to achieve.
